- Eliminate warts.
To illustrate how the procedure is done, we will give an example of our client who wishes to have skin tags on his face and neck removed (client has given written permission for the use of his photos). Skin tags, also known as acrochordon, are non-cancerous growths commonly found on the neck, armpit, groin and the face. 25% of the population have them. They are usually smaller than the size of a grain of rice. Skin tags are harmless but many people choose to remove them due to their unsightly appearance.

Our client below underwent one session of CO2 Laser treatment at our clinic to completely remove all skin tags. He has kindly granted permission for the publications of the photos.

Before starting the CO2 Laser treatment, our aesthetic doctors takes a history, assesses the problem and recommends suitable treatment. They will explain the procedure to you in detail, discuss expected results, possible side effects, recovery time and post laser care.
Next, the skin will be cleansed and a numbing cream will be applied for 20 minutes to ensure that the procedure is comfortable and minimize any discomfort. Ice is applied to make the area numb.
Our aesthetic clinic uses CO2 laser to remove the skin lesions. Laser removal is less scarring compared to older methods such as cryosurgery (freezing) or excision using a surgical blade. There is no bleeding during the procedure when using laser as it coagulates the blood vessels.
Removal takes 1 to 5 minutes for each skin lesion, depending on its size. Most lesions need only 1 minute to do. For example, if the client has 50 skin tags, it would take approximately 50 minutes to remove all of them.
Usually, there is no unbearable discomfort after treatment and the majority of our clients do not need any painkillers.
After the procedure, you should apply Neomycin antibiotic cream (provided at our clinic) twice a day for a week to prevent any chance of infection. You should use sunscreen for at least 1 week on sun-exposed lasered areas.

Appearance immediately after the procedure. There is slight redness and mild swelling over the lasered areas. The client had over 30 skin tags removed from this side of the cheek alone.
After 1 week, the redness will be gone. However, the lasered area may leave a small mark for up to 6 months. This mark can be lighter colour or a different tone than the normal skin. It is not very obvious and can be covered by concealer or make up if you wish to. After 6 months, the mark will be either completely gone or much less obvious.
