What is Zeltiq CoolSculpting Cryolipolysis?
Mediviron UOA Aesthetic Clinic offers Zeltiq CoolSculpting, a non-surgical, non-invasive body sculpting machine treatment that uses a technology called 'cryolipolysis' to eliminate small excess fat deposits on the arms, waist, hips, thighs, buttocks and abdomen.

Mediviron UOA Aesthetic Clinic has been certified by the Zeltiq Corporation (USA) to be a licensed and registered CoolSculpting provider.
How does it work?
Zeltiq Coolsculpting is a FDA-approved method of fat reduction involving fat-freezing. During a CoolSculpting procedure, unwanted fat areas are cooled for 1 hour per area. During this time, fat cell lipids literally freeze to death, causing fat cells to harmlessly break down and reabsorbed by the body.
How is the procedure done?
During the procedure, our aesthetic doctor will position the Zeltiq CoolSculpting device on the selected areas to be treated. The device will then draw the bulge up between two cooling panels. The sensation is a firm pull and pressure - enough of a pull to ensure the tissue will be cooled most efficiently. As the cooling goes to work in the first few minutes, you'll feel pressure and intense cold, which soon dissipates.
What results can be expected?
Patients can experience a 20 to 25% reduction of their body fat layer over the treated area with each session. Additional treatment sessions will give even better results.
When can results be seen?
Initial CoolSculpting results may not be noticeable until 1 month post treatment. The body continually rid itself of fat cells for months following CoolSculpting treatments. The best result is seen after 4 months.
What clinical evidence shows that CoolSculpting really works?
Clinical studies involving hundreds of patients show that, for properly selected patients, CoolSculpting is an effective way to reduce fat without the pain, risk, and recovery time of surgical procedures. The result is noticeable, natural-looking fat reduction in the treated areas.
How do the results compare with invasive procedures like liposuction?
The results of CoolSculpting are not as rapid or dramatic as invasive procedures such as liposuction. However, if you want to avoid the pain, risk and recovery time associated with surgical procedures, CoolSculpting may be the preferred option for you.
Who are suitable candidates?
Zeltiq CoolSculpting is suitable for normal weight or slightly overweight people with pockets of fat such as over the love handles or lower belly. You need to be able to pinch at least 1 inche of fat/skin for the Coolsculpting applicator to fit at the treatment area. If there is too little fat, the applicator might not fit well and there's a chance procedure cannot be performed.
Ideal candidates for CoolSculpting are relatively fit or slightly overweight, but have modest size fat bulges that are not easily reduced through diet and exercise. They are seeking spot reduction for specific areas of fat, but are not considering a surgical procedure.
Who are NOT suitable candidates?
Zeltiq CoolSculpting should not be done for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. Those who are morbidly obese or do not have distinctive bulges may not be suitable candidates.
The Zeltiq procedure is not a way to lose weight or treat obesity. For those who are obese, we would suggest taking our weight loss medicines first to shed off the extra pounds before commencing on the CoolSculpting treatment.
Does CoolSculpting hurt during the procedure?
CoolSculpting is comfortable for most patients. Ten minutes after the cooling procedure starts, the treated area becomes numb due to the cold. No anesthesia was needed for any patients in clinical trials. Typically patients are comfortable enough to read, work on their laptop computers, listen to music, or just relax during the procedure.
What are the side effects?
The procedure does not harm other tissues such as skin, muscles or nerves. There are no major side effects associated with Zeltiq CoolSculpting due to its non-surgical, non-invasive nature. Temporary side effects on treated areas may include bruising, tingling, numbness and sensitivity. These usually subside within 2 week. Mild numbness or tingling sensation can last up to 2 months. You can take mild pain relief medicine such as paracetamol/ acetaminophen if you wish to. Most clients are able to resume work 1-2 days after procedure and exercise 2 weeks after.
How long does results last?
Zeltiq CoolSculpting results can be permanent as long as you maintain your weight. We recommend healthy eating and exercise for the best, long lasting results. You can take weight loss medicines if you are keen to lose weight.
How many sessions are needed?
You can have a session done once every 2 months. Those with small bulges of fat may need only one session. Those with medium or large bulges may need two or more CoolSculpting sessions to achieve the best results. However, you will see some improvements even if you only do one session.
How much does Zeltiq CoolSculpting cost?
We charge RM2500 per session per area of treatment. Upper abdomen/ lower abdomen/ left love handle/ right love handle/ left buttock/ right buttock/ left arm/ right arm/ left inner thigh/ right inner thigh/ left outer thigh/ right outer thigh are one area each. If you do 3 areas or more, we offer a 10 percent discount.
We have a large applicator which is more effective for those with a large tummy as it covers a bigger surface area. It costs RM4500 per session for the large applicator. The large applicator can only be used for tummy and not love handles, buttocks, thighs or arms.
